The Importance of Global Education

Education is the foundation for everything we have in this world. Our cars, bridges, televisions, satellites and cell phones exist only because our educational system produced people who could imagine them, engineer them, and build them.

Education is the solution to all problems generated by ignorance - from racial and religious discrimination to starvation and obesity. Education is the foundation of the future of the world. What we teach our children today will create the world we live in tomorrow.

Problems our Educational Systems

In America and in many other countries so many good people are left behind by a poorly managed and funded educational system. Graduation rates in some inner city schools are appalling. Unions make it almost impossible to fire a bad teacher, and lack of funding makes it impossible to hire and train new teachers. In addition, colleges and other secondary institutions have begun to raise fees in response to decresed state and federal funding making education more expensive and less available.

In other parts of the world the problem isn't a bad educational system but instead a complete lack of educational opportunities. Imagine having to pay for your child to go to Elementary School. How many children are forced into a dark life of ignorance because of this?

Global Educational Reform

The right to a free education, the right to learn, should be a basic right of all human beings.

Education reform means making schools and teachers accountable for the performance of their students but at the same time giving them the means by which they can improve their performance. It means offering educational opportunites to those who have previously been left behind. It means reexamining both what we teach and the way we teach it.

Your community shapes you. A positively oriented community based on sharing, support, and service will produce a very different type of person than a community based on materialism, selfishness, and competition. A community where crime rates are high and opportunites are low will produce more criminals. A community where public service and education is valued will produce the type of citizens needed to face the challenges of the future.

Our goal is to help communities create and execute projects that will bring people together to make the world a better place to live in.

In order to feel more comfortable with donating your time and money it may be necessary to change your mindset to one of appreciation, abundance, and happiness. Once you see the world from a perspecive of "I have enough" as opposed to "I need more" this will allow you to feel more comfortable with giving what you now feel you have too much of:
